VIKING INVASION

is a confederation of many Viking Age reenactors from around the globe.
What started as the authentic reenacment part of a mundane festival became a separate
entity known as Viking Invasion. We work to bring the public, whether at schools,
museums or festivals, the best of the Viking Age.
In 2004, the Jomsvikings came to Waco, Texas for the first Viking market in the US.
Philip Burthem, Jarl of the Jomsvikings, used his professional expertise to make Viking
Invasion a great success. Along with John Mitchell he founded the Texas Jomsborgelag, to
carry on the martial tradition of the greater Jomsborg Army. Joined by The Ansteorran
Longship Company and other Viking reenactment groups from around the globe, it was
well recieved as part of the mundane event. In 2006 we separated from the mundane
group and made our event in Waco bigger and better.
We continue now to participate events in the Texas Area as educators and re-enactors as
well as our annual Viking Invasion. If you are interested in having us as part of your event
please contact our Styrsman.

THE ROMAN WAY
We strive to learn about, experience, and share what we can of the lives of both
civilians and soldiers. With the goal of creating a self-sustaining network and a
community of individuals interested in all aspects of life in Ancient Rome, the
members of The Roman Way participate in the following events:

Public display events are what we call "Educational Theater." We love to share our
interests and knowledge about Ancient Rome with the public, and participate in
many local festivals and exhibitions. We are available to do programs for
museums, schools, homeschool groups, churches, and other community
organizations. See our Outreach Menu to learn more about what we can offer your
group.

Private events and workshops are not public spectacles. Private events are times
for members to learn about and experience what life was like for a 1st century
Roman. These are often workshops to learn how to recreate an ancient craft, such
as pottery or sandal-making, or an immersive camping trip in full Roman kit.

Private banquets and potlucks are times for members to relax and reward each
other's efforts for the year. They often consist of meals prepared using ancient
recipes, ancient Roman music, Roman-themed entertainment for kids and adults,
and much appreciation for the efforts of others.
THE TEXAS CORITANI
is a living history group that attempts to recreate the lifestyles
of the inhabitants of the British Isles during the late Iron Age,
sometimes referred to as the La Tene period. That is, roughly
from 350 BC to the 1st century AD.
The Iron Age is a fascinating period to explore. The tribes of
Britain during this period show regional differences, there are
numerous sources available for interpretation (archaeology,
numismatics and ancient texts), and the industries of the
period (wood working, pottery, bronze casting, spinning and
weaving, etc.) are creative venues to study and make objects
that are practical and beautiful.
Our membership is spread over a wide area of Texas. We have
members from San Antonio, to Austin, to Temple and Houston.
Our activities have historically been mostly in the Austin area,
though we are not restricted to that area or even to Texas.
