CELTIC DOG PARADE The Celtic Dog Parade is usually led by award-winning Pipe Major Kenneth Liechti, a professional-grade piper from Scotland with 40 years of piping experience. Mr. Liechti is the founder and director or Silver Thistle Pipes and Drums in Austin. The dog parade happens once on each day – usually in the afternoon. It’s one of our much anticipated family friendly traditions at ACF. The time of the parade will be posted at the front gate and by the sheep herding exhibit. We start by the sheep herding exhibit and travel the circular path around the vendors area to end at the sheep herding exhibit. |

WELSH PONIES Primrose Farm is located in Shelby, Texas - Austin County (south central Texas), midway between Houston and Austin. Although relatively new to the industry our farm, established in 2003, has grown with the help of many knowledgeable friends. Our Welsh Mountain Pony herd began with the purchase of the exquisite brood mare, Tylwyth Bewitched, a Welsh pony with the finest bloodlines tracing immediately to foundation ponies such as Lithgow Houdini, Clan Glomadh, Coed Coch Madog, Clan Dana, and Liseter Brilliant. Our first goal is to maintain and propagate ponies to the breed standard of the Welsh Mountain (Section A) Pony. Our ponies are bred to be loved and enjoyed by children and their parents, and are "Ponies born to love children". Their beauty and spirit are wonderful to watch, their kindness a pleasure to enjoy. |

The Texas Scottie Rescue Fund, Inc. was founded in 2002 to provide quality care and forever homes for rescued Scottish Terriers in the State of Texas. The Scotties that enter our rescue programs come to us in a variety of ways. Many are abandoned by their owners or are turned in to animal shelters. Sometimes, owners must give up their dogs because of medical problems, moving into retirement homes, divorce, new baby, etc. Some of the dogs we rescue become homeless because they outlive their owners. Many of these dogs have had little time or attention paid to them and they may not be housebroken. Some are grieving for a lost loved one. We have found that when they are placed into good homes where they are wanted and loved, they return that love many times over. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescued Scotties, please contact the rescue coordinator in your area and/or complete the online application. |
